Heart of Minnesota Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare.

Our Goals Include:

  • Prevent pet overpopulation by the promotion of spay/neuter programs.
  • Provide education and training on the proper care of animals.
  • Provide foster homes for unwanted or homeless animals until adoption to a permanent home.
  • Education against the neglect and abuse of animals.

Available to visit schools, churches, or groups to provide educational information.

Visit nursing homes with pets to give loving companionship to the residents.

Our long term goal is to end pet overpopulation since there are literally hundreds of unwanted dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens needing loving homes. Prior to adoption all pets are checked by a veterinarian, given appropriate vaccinations and spayed or neutered if old enough. The adoption of a pet is a life long commitment.

These animals ask for so little, but have so much to give. Adopting through an animal shelter saves a life!

Wanted

Money is always needed, as are donations of quality pet food, litter, and litter pans, chew bones, leashes and collars. We are dependent on your donations to continue this valuable service. We also are always in need of loving foster homes and volunteers to help with the animals or our fundraising efforts. Please give generously.
